'...a beautiful love story. It is indeed difficult to set this book aside. This thoroughly enjoyable book is the best of all the SCARLET romances I've read'

"And to think that you're a Human Resources Manager..."
"Not for much longer," Sally broke in acidly. "Or are you forgetting?"
"Sally! Stop being so dramatic and just listen," Hugh said, placing a reassuring hand on her arm. " And don't say a word until I've finished. We don't have time to discuss our feelings now. I want to take care of you and for us to be together."
"You mean like being your mistress?" Sally trembled, looking her boss straight in the eye. "Don't you want us to be together first, before you commit yourself?"
With her home life in disarray, divorcee Sally Palmer had at least been happy in her job as Personnel Officer at Barrington's Department Store. That was until the day she found her job title changed to that of Human Resources Manager and her boss was offering her a completely different role.
Inspiration for Satin and Lace (A Bay Tree for Stanley)
SATIN AND LACE (aka A BAY TREE FOR STANLEY) was inspired by the Northamptonshire villages and countryside where Danielle now lives. SATIN AND LACE came into being as a result of a job advertisement in the local paper, in addition to listening to BBC Radio Northampton. Danielle's original title for SATIN AND LACE was in fact A BAY TREE FOR STANLEY. To this day Danielle still regrets being overruled as far as the title of her first novel is concerned.
